Exfoliation

What it is

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface to reveal a brighter, smoother complexion.

How does it work?

Exfoliation can be done using physical scrubs or chemical exfoliants such as alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs). While exfoliation improves texture and enhances product absorption, overdoing it can weaken the skin barrier, leading to irritation.

For most skin types, exfoliating 1–3 times a week is sufficient. Always follow exfoliation with a good moisturiser and SPF to protect the newly revealed skin from environmental damage.
