What it is
Rosacea is a chronic condition characterised by facial redness, visible blood vessels and sometimes small red bumps. It primarily affects the cheeks, nose and chin.
What it looks like
Rosacea often appears as flushed skin, with persistent redness and occasionally swelling or irritation, particularly around the central face.
Treatment
Avoiding triggers such as spicy foods, alcohol, and extreme temperatures is key. Skincare products with niacinamide or azelaic acid can help, as can prescription creams and oral antibiotics. In-office treatments such as IPL (intense pulsed light) therapy can reduce redness.
