Keratosis Pilaris

What It Is:

Keratosis pilaris, often called “chicken skin,” is a harmless condition caused by excess keratin blocking hair follicles. It is most common on the arms, thighs, and cheeks.

What It Looks Like:

Small, rough bumps that feel dry or sandpaper-like.

Treatment:

Exfoliating treatments with lactic or glycolic acid, and regular moisturising with urea-based creams, help smooth the skin.
