Hyperpigmentation

What It Is:

Hyperpigmentation is the darkening of certain areas of skin due to excess melanin production. It can occur anywhere on the body, including the face, hands, and shoulders.

What It Looks Like:

It manifests as dark patches or spots, often after inflammation, injury, or sun exposure.

Treatment:

Brightening agents like vitamin C, niacinamide, or kojic acid are effective, alongside sunscreen to prevent worsening. Chemical peels and laser treatments can accelerate results for stubborn spots.
