Actinic Keratosis

What it is

Actinic keratosis is a precancerous skin lesion caused by long-term sun exposure. It is commonly found on the face, scalp and hands.

What it looks like

A rough, scaly patch that may be pink, red or brown.

Treatment

Cryotherapy, topical creams, or laser therapy are often used to remove actinic keratosis and prevent progression.
